第507期：代購用英語怎么說？

今天我們來聊聊代購這個詞用英語怎么說？網(wǎng)絡上有很多不同的說法，本文簡要整理一下。

代購是一個中國獨有的電商時代現(xiàn)象，意思大家都懂。我們先來看Wikipedia對“代購”一詞的定義。

Daigou (literally: ‘Surrogate Shopping’) is an emerging form of cross-border exporting in which an individual or a syndicated group of exporters outside China purchases commodities (mainly luxury goods, but sometimes also groceries such as infant formulas) for customers in China, in order to either illegally or legally use loopholes to circumvent import tariffs imposed on overseas goods.

這個定義寫得太棒了！簡要翻譯如下：

Daigou（字面意思：surrogate shopping – 代理購物）是一種新出現(xiàn)的跨境出口形式。由中國境外的個人或出口機構為中國的消費者代為購買商品的行為（主要包括奢侈品，也有嬰幼兒配方奶粉等日用品），目的是合法或非法地利用政策漏洞繞開中國對進口商品征收的關稅。

有些網(wǎng)站說BBC已經直接采納Daigou這個拼音來指“代購”了，因此不需要翻譯了，直接說Daigou就行。我不同意這種說法。英美媒體，如BBC, Bloomberg, Forbes等，的確有過文章中直接用了Daigou這個拼音，但都需要加一句解釋，否則外國人根本不明白。

例如：

Forbes: Daigou–pronounced dye-go–literally means “representative purchasing” and refers to merchants who source and re-sell products even if they are not authorized distributors.?

Bloomberg: It’s a Mandarin term that’s part of the lexicon of the luxury-goods industry. Daigou (dye-go), or “to buy on behalf,” describes the practice of purchasing sought-after goods — from high-end handbags to premium infant formula — overseas to resell back home. It can also refer to the people who do the buying.

SCMP（南華早報）：Zhu – not her real name – is one of an estimated 110,000 Chinese students in Australia making an income as a daigou – a Putonghua term (pronounced ‘dye-go’ in English) for someone overseas who “buys on somebody else’s behalf”.

BBC：In Australia, it’s estimated there are 40,000 daigou, which means “buying on behalf of” in Mandarin.

上面援引了四個英文媒體上使用Daigou一詞的實例，可以看出來，盡管Daigou這個拼音有時候會直接出現(xiàn)在英文媒體上，但都需要進一步解釋。

根據(jù)目前已有的解釋，代購一般有以下幾種說法：

佛老認為，surrogate shopping這個說法不錯，明顯是根據(jù)surrogate mother（代孕媽媽）這個詞套用來的。surrogate的意思是“代理、代替”的意思。

buy on behalf這個說法最不好，首先不符合英語語法規(guī)則，完全是Chinglish生造出來的一個詞。不建議。

Online shopping agency指代購機構或代購的人，這個說法比較準確，但有點長。而且代購也不完全都是在線交易，也可以線下委托別人代為購買。所以online有些多余，直接說shopping agency還可以，但這樣又容易被人誤認為是普通的國際貿易經濟人。不建議。

Procurement service這個說法太籠統(tǒng)了，也太大了。Procurement一般指企業(yè)的大宗采購，翻譯代購不夠準確。不建議。

Daigou shopping這種說法目前還有點早，畢竟懂Daigou這個拼音的外國人還不多。以后或許可以。

因為代購基本都是海外代購，我覺得比較靠譜的翻譯應該是：overseas surrogate shopping（行為）；overseas surrogate shopper（人）。

當然，如果代購現(xiàn)象繼續(xù)發(fā)展壯大，Daigou這個拼音早晚也許真的會被英語字典正式收錄，就像很多中國特色詞匯一樣。如果到了那一天，依佛老之間，完全可以再發(fā)明一個新詞：Daigouer 代購人
